Yes, when implemented under a Data Privacy Agreement. CoGrader is FERPA-compliant by design: student work is processed without third-party model training, encrypted in transit and at rest, and governed by a district-signed DPA. The DPA template is available in our security packet.
Is CoGrader SOC 2 certified?
Yes. CoGrader holds a SOC 2 Type I attestation, conducted by an independent third-party auditor, covering the security, availability, and confidentiality of the platform that processes student work. The attestation letter is available to school and district evaluators under NDA through our security packet request.
Is CoGrader safe for student data?
Yes. CoGrader uses four controls to keep student data safe: encryption in transit and at rest, access restricted through district single sign-on, no use of student work to train third-party models, and an audit trail on every score. All four are enforced under a signed DPA.
How accurate is CoGrader compared to teachers?
CoGrader validates its scores against human teacher scores on standards-aligned rubrics. The methodology, including rubric inventory and inter-rater calibration approach, is available to district evaluators on request. We do not publish accuracy numbers we cannot defend in a board meeting, so we share data scoped to your context under DPA.

Districts adopt CoGrader in three steps. First, your district signs a Data Privacy Agreement and selects a license tier.
