For Students: We do not directly collect personal information from students. Because we do not collect personal information, so this policy is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and other relevant U.S. regulations to ensure the privacy and security of student data.
1.2 Grading Data: Teachers provide assignment questions, rubrics, and student answers to Cograder for grading purposes. This data may include text, images, or other media elements. We consider this data as educational records and treat it in accordance with FERPA regulations.
1.3 Usage Information: We collect non-personal information about your interactions with Cograder, such as your IP address, device information, browser type, and usage patterns. This information is used to improve our services, enhance user experience, and ensure system integrity and security.

2.1 Providing and Improving Services: We use the personal and grading data to provide you with the requested grading services, generate graded assessments, and provide feedback. 4.3 Third-Party AI Platform: To provide our grading services, we share anonymized information, such as assignment questions, rubrics, and answers, with OpenAI OpCo, LLC. This is currently the only third-party AI platform we use. Please note that OpenAI OpCo, LLC has its own privacy policy governing their use and protection of data, which is fully accessible here. We take steps to ensure that the data we share with them does not identify individuals and is used solely for the purpose of providing our services.

5.1 Access and Update: Teachers can access and update their personal information by logging into their Cograder account.
5.2 Opt-Out: You may opt-out of receiving non-essential communications from us by following the instructions provided in those communications.
