I am a teacher. I can teach students to write. I can teach students to improve their writing. I can give them feedback. But what I cannot be is a computer. I cannot predict what a computer is going to score their writing. That is why I need a program like CoGrader available.
CoGrader has allowed me to give my students very quick and efficient feedback along the way in the writing process. By the time it comes to grade a final piece, I have already given them feedback on each step. It does not replace the teacher. It is like an assistant.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about using DMAC with CoGrader.
What is DMAC and how does it work with CoGrader?
DMAC (Data Management for Assessment and Curriculum) is a web-based platform from ESC Region 7 used by Texas districts for data analysis, local assessments, and rubric scoring. CoGrader reads DMAC rubric-scoring PDF exports natively. Inside CoGrader you start a new import, choose "Import from DMAC", and upload the PDF. CoGrader handles the rest.
Do I need a DMAC account to use CoGrader?
No. CoGrader works independently as an AI grading tool. The DMAC integration is an additional workflow for educators who already use DMAC for assessment delivery and want to add AI-powered feedback to their process.
What types of DMAC assessments can I import?
You can import both quiz-style assessments and essay assessments from DMAC. CoGrader detects the assessment type from your PDF and routes it to the right grader: the Quiz Grader for quiz-style assessments, or the Essay Grader for writing assessments.
Is CoGrader aligned to Texas STAAR, TELPAS, and TEKS standards?
Yes. CoGrader includes pre-built STAAR rubrics for Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-English II in Argumentative, Informational, and Spanish formats, plus pre-built TELPAS writing rubrics for English Learners. All rubrics align to TEKS writing standards. You can also create custom rubrics for your district benchmarks.
Can I use CoGrader for TELPAS writing tasks?
Yes. CoGrader has TELPAS writing rubrics built in, aligned to the four English language proficiency levels (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, Advanced High). You can grade English Learner writing samples the same way you would STAAR responses, with per-student feedback and class analytics.
How is student data protected?
CoGrader is SOC 2 Type 1 certified, FERPA compliant, and COPPA compliant. All data is stored and processed exclusively in the United States on Google Cloud Platform. We follow NIST 1.1 framework guidelines and comply with SOPIPA and Ed Law 2D.
Can I use CoGrader for DMAC benchmark assessments?
Yes. If your district uses DMAC for local benchmark assessments with rubric scoring, you can export those results and import them into CoGrader for AI feedback. This is especially useful for writing benchmarks where students need detailed, actionable feedback beyond a numeric score.
